Top rank NPA commander arrested

Forty nine (49) year-old, Efren Vidal y Banes, alias “ka Pigoy/ ka Paderes”, Platoon Leader, Madya-as Platoon formerly known as Tugalbong Platoon under Chiva Waling Waling Command, Central Front under Francisco Balois @ Ka Tonying of KR-Panay was arrested at Brgy. Poblacion, Bingawan, Iloilo early morning of November 29, 2019.

 Vidal was arrested by the Joint elements of Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Special Operation Group (PSOG), Bingawan Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division and 301st Brigade, Philippine Army.

The top ranking NPA commander has a warrant of arrest for the crime of rebellion (2 counts), and 3 counts of murder.

 He is presently under the custody of IPPO PSOG for joint custodial debriefing.

 PBGen Rene Pamuspusan, RD, PRO6 congratulates Iloilo Police Provincial Office for the accomplishment and expects more arrest of high ranking NPAs as a result of the collaborative effort of the RTF-ELCAC.

Masskara Festival 2019 generally peaceful

Police Regional Office 6 claimed another successful security coverage for Masskara Festival 2019 with No Major Incident that occurred during the entire duration and in other related activities.

The success was defined in the 62.79% decrease in Eight (8) focus crimes covering the period of MassKara Festival 2019 from October 8 to 29, 2019 as compared to the same period last year. Record shows that there were a total of 43 crime incidents or 8 Focus Crimes last year while this year have only 16 incidents.

Meanwhile, Reckless Imprudence Resulting (RIR) to damage to property also decreased from 52 incidents last year to only 12 incidents this year or 76% lower compared to last year’s record.

PRO6 deployed a total of Three thousand (3,000) PNP, AFP Personnel and force multipliers who were assigned in different Task Units. The peaceful celebration of MassKara Festival 2019 were attributed to the continuous police visibility and other police operations coupled with timely information dissemination of the Do’s and Don’ts during the festivity  and other Crime prevention tips through distribution of flyers and social media.
