7.4M worth of shabu seized in 2 drug bust operations in Iloilo
The joint elements of Iloilo PPO Drug Enforcement Unit, led by Police Major JONATHAN A PINUELA and Pavia Municipal Police Station led by PMAJ JOJO TABALOC under the direct supervision and control of PCOL. ROLAND A. VILELA, Provincial Director, conducted buybust operation with PDEA RO6 COC # 2003-022020-0011 against suspects Jennifer Nosotros y Abantao, 42, jobless and her son John Rey Nosotros y Abantao, 20, first year criminology student, residents of Brgy Buntalala, Jaro, Iloilo City, in front of GT Mall, Bgy. Ungka 2, Pavia, Iloilo on February 2, 2020 at around 6:00 o’clock in the evening.
Validation conducted by the operating units revealed that suspects were identified as elder sister and nephew of JOVAN ABANTAO, who is presently detained at NBP, Muntinlupa City (DI LISTED HVI).
Recovered from the said operation are 75,100.00 buybust money; 2 big heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance weighing more or less 1/2kl with estimated market value of 6.3 million pesos; 11 medium sized plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance weighing more or less 30gms; one (1) buybust item (5gms); one (1) digital weighing scale; one (1) cellphone; bundles of transparent plastic sachet; and one (1) black sling bag.
In a separate buybust operation conducted by Pavia MPS and IPPO-DEU in coordination with Iloilo City Police Station 6 at Zone 15 Brgy. Calaparan, Arevalo, Iloilo City at around 1:00 a.m. of February 3, 2020, suspect Lalaine Ereño y Dela Cruz, 56 yrs old, married, and resident of said place was also arrested.
Recovered from her possession and control are: sling bag containing fifteen (15) Big Plastic Sachets including buy bust item of suspected shabu place on a coin purse with market value amounting to 1.125 million pesos; two (2) cellular phones (samsung/nokia) and buybust money worth 20,500.00 pesos.
Lalaine Ereño is considered as downline of Jennifer Nosotros and John Rey Nosotros who are considered as courier-supplier in Panay and some areas in Bacolod City, a loosely organized drug group.
Regional Crime Laboratory Office 6 chemistry report revealed that items submitted for examination are positive for Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, a dangerous drug.
Cases for Violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
The drug items recovered in the two connected operations is so far the biggest haul in Panay Island.
Police Brigadier General Rene P Pamuspusan lauded Iloilo Police Provincial Office for their accomplishment. He warned Ilonggos not to let drug syndicates use them as couriers. “bibitiwan at pababayaan lang nila kayo (referring to big drug syndicates taking advantage lowly individuals as drug couriers)” Pamuspusan said during the press conference. “May this operation serve as lesson to everybody” he added when it came to his knowledge that only a small amount goes to the suspects out of their millions-worth of drug deals.
